Shah Rukh Khan's Zero becomes the eighth highest opener of 2018; fails to beat Thugs of Hindostan and Gold

Shah Rukh Khan's Zero has opened on a decent note collecting Rs 20. 14 crores on the first day. It was a working Friday but given the extensive number of screens, it is somewhat disappointing. Zero is the eighth highest opener of the year behind Baaghi 2, Padmaavat and 2.0. The film has got mixed reactions from the critics and audiences, and the weekend business is going to be a truly crucial one. In the film, Shah Rukh Khan plays Bauaa Singh who is a vertically challenged man from Meerut. He finds love in a scientist Aafia who has cerebral palsy. He leaves her for Babita Kumari Sharma and later has to redeem himself. The fantastical situations in the film is what has upset the critics the most.

If we see the above films, Thugs of Hindostan, Race 3, Gold, Baaghi 2 released on holidays. Sanju and 2Point0 were the exceptions. Zero is made on a huge budget of Rs 200 crore. The film's VFX is getting a lot of praise from everyone. Our editor-in-chief Tushar P Joshi reviewed the film and said, "Zero has heart and humour. It also has some fine performances by its three superstar actors. Watch it if you are in mood for a different take on love with an intergalactic experience." Stay tuned to BL for more scoops and updates!
