After the grand success of Geetha Govindam, the hit pair of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna will be seen together in Dear Comrade. Rashmika, who is set to essay the character of a cricketer in the film has gone one extra mile for her role. The actress will trim her locks to get the authenticity as the cricketer in the film. Generally, female artists don't do this kind of things but hats off to Rashmika for her dedication towards her character.

As per the Deccan Chronicle report, a source said, Rashmika had already practised extensively for her role of a cricketer. Her next step would be adjust her locks a wee bit to perfectly complement the part. The filmmakers lauded her commitment and the efforts she is putting for her character. As per the reports, Vijay will essay the character of a student leader from a communist family, while Rashmika will be seen as a cricketer playing for Telangana state.
Earlier there were rumours that Dear Comrade is inspired by Dulquer Salmaan starrer Malayalam film Comrade In America aka CIA. Though the director Bharat Kamma rubbished the rumours and said, Dear Comrade starring Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda has no connection with the Malayalam film. The film is produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, who had delivered hits like Srimanthudu and Rangasthalam. The makers have recently wrapped up the Kakinada schedule.
