On the festive weekend of Pongal, we will see two megastars Rajinikanth and Thala Ajith battling with each other at the ticket windows with their big-ticket films Petta and Viswasam. While we are yet to see, who will emerge as the winner in this clash, Rajinikanth seems to have shown his star power at the overseas box office. In Canada, the pre-sales business of Petta is $ 22, 380 CAD, while Viswasam has earned $ 8,220 CAD. Though we are expecting both the films to open big on its first day in the domestic circuit.

Talking about Petta, the film is shot in Dehradun, Chennai and Lucknow. It features the ensemble star cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran Bagga, Bobby Simha, Megha Akash, Sanath Reddy and Nawazuddin Siddiqi. As per the leading south portal Ananda Vikatan, the role of the superstar will be the proper mix of a classy and massy hero. He will be a hostel warden in the day but a dreaded don in the night. Interestingly, this will be Rajinikanth's third character as a don after Kabali and Kaala. It will have three action sequences which will definitely be a huge treat for the Thalaivar fans.
On the other hand, Viswasam brings Ajith and Nayanthara together after more than five years. It marks the fourth collaboration between Ajith and director Siva after crackling hits like Vedhalam, Veeram and Vivegam. The film also stars Vivekh, Thambi Ramaiah, Yogi Babu, Bose Venkat and Kovai Sarala in pivotal roles.
