KGF movie meta review: Critics give full marks to Yash as well as the screenplay and art direction

Yash-starrer KGF has released today along with Shah Rukh Khan's Zero and seems to be living up to the standards set by the trailer. This Prashanth Neel directorial features Yash as Rocky, an ultra-ambitious boy who wants to become the most powerful man. The film traces his journey from the streets of Bombay to the fields of KGF. The plot begins with Rocky's journey being narrated by a journalist who chronicles his life in the 1980s. And we must say that audience is already impressed with Yash's performance. And it's not just his Kannada fans, but even critics from all over are hailing him and the filmmakers for the wonderful screenplay and art direction.

As per a review by The Times Of India, "The film has a fast-paced first half, which does seem a little long, but the second half and the climax sets up the right premise for the second part of the film... The screenplay is the most interesting part of the film. The non-linear pattern keeps the viewers engaged, with the growth of Rocky being shown in a steady fashion... Adding the extra edge to the film are the cinematography, art direction and the locales. Everything looks top notch and one is often left spellbound at the scenes."

Meanwhile, fans are loving the whole visual experience of the Kolar Gold Fields with the setting being on point. From the dim and grey mines to the glitzy city life, the transition is beautiful. Amazing dialogues add to this along with Yash's spellbinding performance.

Another review by International Business Times calls the film as an "engrossing period entertainer". The report says, "KGF has a solid story backed by majestic screen presence of Rocking Star Yash... Ravi Basrur has composed the music and all the songs have left a good impression."

And now we are waiting for more reviews to come in. But it seems that the movie is going to be a blockbuster hit, going by what we are hearing from those who have already watched it.
