DeepVeer, NickYanka and Taimur among newsmakers of 2018 but Salman Khan, Sridevi and Sunny Leone top most searched celebrities of the year

This year has been the most entertaining year in the recent times. From the winks going viral to internet blowing up over star-studded receptions, Bollywood witnessed it all. However, there were few stars who ruled the trends this year and we know who they are all thanks to Yahoo. The search engine has listed down the newsmakers of the year and no prizes for guessing who s on it.

The newlywed Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh make it to the list thanks to wedding and three receptions which followed their Lake Como ceremonies. DeepVeer were joined by another recently married couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. Right from spotting them at dates to their roka, followed by their royal wedding at Jodhpur over the weekend, everyone wanted to know what was going on with NickYanka.

The couples were accompanied by our adorable little munchkin Taimur Ali Khan. The soon-to-be two-year-old star kid has everyone s attention every time he steps out. From his smile, to his wave, his style and his interactions with the paparazzi, you name it and we bet it has all gone viral within moments.

Speaking of viral moments, internet sensation Priya Prakash Varrier also made it to the list courtesy her wink. The Malayalam actress took the internet by storm in February and got the name winking girl.

Yahoo also announced the Top 10 India s heartthrobs of 2018 list and guess who made it to the top spot: Ranveer and Deepika. Janhvi Kapoor, Taimur, Sara Ali Khan Priyanka and Nick also made it to the list.

Regardless of the events that unfolded this year, Salman Khan and Sunny Leone became the most search celebrities of the year. The Bigg Boss 12 host dominated the most searched male celebrity list whereas Sunny took the top spot in the most searched Indian female celebrity.

Others on the most searched female celebrity list included Sridevi, Sapna Choudhary, Sonali Bendre, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor to name a few. Sridevi s sudden death took the country by shock and searches about the cause of her death, funeral and other things related shot up. Sonali s cancer news was yet another blow for people and search interests about her health increased. Radhika made headlines with her Netflix shows and Sonam caught everyone s attention with her summer wedding.

The male category included Nick Jonas, Kamal Haasan, Kapil Sharma, Guru Randhawa and Alok Nath. Nick caught Indians fancy because he was about to (and eventually became) the national Jiju. Kamal made headlines for his political moves, Guru s songs were enough to get everyone hooked to him and Alok s search interests grew when his name popped up in the #MeToo movement.
