Chennai box office: Thalapathy Vijay’s Sarkar beats Kaatrin Mozhi and Ralph Breaks the Internet to top the list

Audience have had multiple choices to watch over the weekend, with multiple films being screened at cinema halls in Chennai. Vijay's Sarkar, Jyothika-starrer Kaatrin Mozhi and Hollywood flick, Ralph Breaks The Internet, have kept the audience busy and entertained in Chennai. However, Vijay's Sarkar topped the charts in Chennai in terms of collections and beat Kaatrin Mozhi in terms of collections. Sarkar continued its golden run in Chennai, and at the second position is Kaatrin Mozhi, which is the Tamil remake of the Bollywood film, Tumhari Sulu, starring Vidya Balan. The third spot is grabbed by Hollywood film, Ralph Breaks The Internet, giving Indian films a run for their money. Nakkul-starrer Sei, which was released this Friday, was at the fourth position and Vijay Antony s Thimiru Pudichavan was at the fifth. With great reviews and positive response from fans, Vijay s Sarkar continues its great run at the ticket window, even after three weeks of release.

Sarkar, directed by AR Murugadoss, has had its own share of controversies after release, with the Tamil Nadu government objecting to a few scenes in it. However, all the gung-ho around the film only helped the film do better at the box office and collections went skyrocketing. Kaatrin Mozhi released with a terrific opening across Tamil Nadu and Kerala and is continuing to have a super run with good numbers. Directed by Radha Mohan, Kaatrin Mozhi is doing much better than the original, Tumhari Sulu, which starred Vidya Balan in the lead role.
