Thala Ajith and Nayanthara's Viswasam, which locked horns with Rajinikanth's Petta at the box office yesterday, has taken a historic opening on its first day. As per the latest trade reports, it has raked in Rs 26.7 crore on its opening day, which is a huge number considering the clash with the Thalaivar's film. Despite getting lesser screens than Petta, it has achieved this milestone, thanks to the humongous star power of Thala Ajith.

The film has turned out to be the biggest opener of Thala Ajith and will soon shatter the records of Tamil biggies as the advance booking of the film is getting a phenomenal response. The film marks the fourth collaboration between the director and Ajith after Vedhalam, Veeram and Vivegam. Apart from the lead cast, it also features Vivek, Thambi Ramaiah, Yogi Babu, Bose Venkat and Kovai Sarala in pivotal roles.
