Box office report: Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan's Simmba ends its second week on a winning note

Since there were no releases last Friday, Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer Simmba continued its dominance at the box office. The masala cop actioner garnered Rs 61.62 crore in its second week. It currently stands with the grand total of Rs 212.43 crore and we are expecting it cross the Rs 225 crore mark by the end of its third weekend at the ticket windows.

Talking about the milestones, it is currently the third highest grosser of 2018 after Sanju and Padmaavat. It also turned out to be Rohit Shetty's eighth consecutive Rs 100 crore film after Golmaal 3, Singham, Bol Bachchan, Chennai Express, Singham Returns, Dilwale and Golmaal Again. It is produced under the banners of Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions.

Talking about the film, Ranveer said: "I had never done this kind of out and out masala entertainer -- a kind of movie I had always wanted to do. I'm extremely grateful to the audience for the love they have showered on my performance and on the film. It is encouraging and truly humbling. It has been an absolutely incredible year for me, and the success of 'Simmba' makes it an ideal way to end the year on a huge, huge high." The film also features Sonu Sood, Siddharth Jadhav and Vaidehi Parshurami in pivotal roles. The music of the film is composed by Tanishk Bagchi and the cinematography is done by John T Jomon.
