Thalapathy Vijay will next collaborate with his Mersal director Atlee and this will be the duo's third film together. Said to be a sports drama, the film is yet to be titled and the makers are yet to reveal the complete cast for the venture. And according to latest development, there's a new update about the film. Reports reveal that Vijay will be seen playing a role which will have a new dimension and the film will be a complete entertainer.
Emerging reports reveal that Vijay will play a football coach in the plot and the story will have a sports drama to it. Although this is yet to be officially confirmed by the makers, fans are now quite excited about these latest updates about #Thalapathy63. This yet-untitled film was announced recently and will be produced by ASG Cinemas and directed by Atlee. Going by the recent trend, this film may also be released during Diwali this year like Sarkar and Mersal.

The last time Thalapathy Vijay and Atlee came together, they made the biggest blockbuster in Tamil cinema in the form of Mersal. Vijay was seen playing triple roles in the film which was one of the most fast-paced films in the actor's career. Vijay was last seen in Sarkar which was directed by A.R. Murugadoss. A political drama, Sarkar had the actor playing a vigilante and fighting for the civic rights of citizens in Tamil Nadu. The film turned out to be a massive success and earned a gross collection of more than Rs 120 crore.
