Anushka Shetty was last seen in Bhaagamathiee which was a horror-thriller and was directed by G Ashok. The film went on to become a huge success and clocked in some great numbers at the box office. Anushka hasn't since appeared in any film and there have been a lot of speculations. However, recently, writer-producer Kona Venkat revealed that Anushka would be acting in one of his productions and the film would be another one from the horror genre.
Venkat revealed that Anushka Shetty would be seen playing a role which she hasn't attempted before in her career. And according to latest developments, Tamil actor R Madhavan would be seen playing a key role in this yet-untitled film. How we learnt about this development? In a chat session with users on Twitter, a fan asked Kona Venkat about Anushka and Madhavan's film and the writer replied stating the film will begin in March. "Pre-production works are in full swing.. shooting from March.. signed some exciting star cast.. will reveal the details very soon.." [sic] replied Kona Venkat about Anushka Shetty's film. Earlier, it was being reported that the film would have a slew of Hollywood actors who will be seen playing pivotal roles. Producer Kona Venkat himself had revealed that the Hollywood artists agreed to come on board after learning that Anushka Shetty of Baahubali was playing the lead role. It is also being speculated that the film will have Anushka playing a deaf woman and this will be her first attempt at such a role.
