Uri is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies of January 2019. The movie, which is based on the surgical attack that took place near Uri in Jammu and Kashmir, will watch Vicky Kaushal in the lead. The actor, who has delivered critically acclaimed performances in movie like Sanju and Manmarziyaan this year, plays an army officer in the movie. The actor has already confirmed that we ll finally have the trailer of the movie this week. However, before we get a glimpse of the movie, the makers have released the first look of the lead actress of the movie, Yami Gautam.

And boy, her new look does suit her well. The actress, who chopped her locks short for the role, is seen wearing a grey formal blazer over a blue shirt. The actress sports an intense yet concerned look, something that has got us worrying as well. The actress first look from the movie has got us intrigued and we cannot wait for the trailer any longer.

Yami

The actress is believed to play the role of an intelligence officer in the movie. According to an Indian Express report, Yami drew inspiration from two women Punita Arora the first woman in India to become a Lt. General in the Indian Army and Priya Jhingan, who requested the then Army Chief in 1992 to be accepted as a woman and a year later became the first Indian woman to have joined the Army.

I think these stories must be done and Uri has really been a reason to bring forth such a thought to me, she said in a statement.

Uri releases on January 11. It also stars Kirti Kulhari and Paresh Rawal in lead roles.
