Nakuul Mehta urges Rani Mukerji to LISTEN to Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma's thoughts on #MeToo as the Mardaani actress faces flak on social media

The #MeToo wave was one of the prominent things to happen in Bollywood this year. After Tanushree Dutta recounted the ordeal of how she was allegedly harassed on the sets of Horn Ok! Pleass by Nana Patekar, women from various fields came forward and narrated tales of how they were subjected to humiliation, unsolicited sexual advances and torture from everyone. At a recent round-table conference, actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Taapsee Pannu, Tabu, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma were talking about the topic of #MeToo. Rani Mukerji spoke about how self-defense was the need of the hour. She also said that mothers cannot be told how to bring up their kids. On the other hand, Deepika and Anushka spoke about the need for a transparent environment that allows girls to voice their fears. Many did not like Rani's POV and expressed their displeasure on social media. Actor Nakuul Mehta was one of them. He said it would have been a little better if Rani had heard what the other women on the table have to say...

It is not only Nakuul Mehta who seems somewhat disappointed by what Rani Mukerji has said. However, this is not the first time the actor has spoken lengths about #MeToo. His award acceptance speech at one of the functions was also about making a committed effort towards gender equality and making workplaces safer. Stay tuned to BL for more updates!
