Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu is currently shooting for his upcoming film with Vamshi Paidipally titled Maharshi. The film is slated to be released in April this year and the makers are yet to confirm the release date of the film. Mahesh will join hands with director Sukumar after Maharshi which is yet to be officially announced. This yet-unofficial project will be the duo s second project after 1 Nenokkadine. According to some reports, the film is currently in the scripting stage and soon the makers will begin pre-production work like location scouting and casting. And amidst all this, news has it that the makers are considering roping in a popular Bollywood actress for this project. It is being said that none other than Katrina Kaif is being considered as the leading lady for this Mahesh Babu-starrer and the makers will soon initiate talks with the Thugs of Hindostan actress. Reports reveal that the makers zeroed in on Katrina after considering quite a few big actresses.
If this materialises, it will be Katrina Kaif's third film in Telugu and that too after more than a decade. Katrina made her debut in Telugu with Venkatesh Daggubati's Malliswari which had her playing a princess.
The actress later featured alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna in Allari Pidugu and hasn't since appeared in any Telugu film.
Meanwhile, the makers of this Mahesh Babu-Sukumar project are tight-lipped about the casting and other details of the project. And if Katrina gives her nod to the project, it will be one of the biggest stars cast in South Indian cinema this year.
