EXCLUSIVE! It's Kanpur calling once again for Aparshakti Khurana, this time on the silver screen

Actor, comedian and show host Aparshakti Khurana has won hearts with his endearing performance in the surprise hit Stree. In 2019, the young Khurana has an interesting line up of movies. From Lukka Chuppi to Jabariya Jodi, Aparshakti has his hands full with work. Furthermore, BollywoodLife has learnt that the 31-year-old has bagged another plum project to add to his kitty. Currently seen in a comedy show on TV, Khurana has signed a movie as the male lead. Our reliable source reveals that the project is helmed by writer-turned-director Ashish Aryan. Titled Kanpuriya, the movie will be his feature directorial debut.

Interestingly, Khurana's current TV show which is on air also comprises Kanpur in its title. So, after being in Kanpur on the small screen, he will return to the city for the big screen. Seems like a fixation or a mere coincidence? Talking about the movie, the source adds, "It is a light-hearted slice-of-life film based in Kanpur. Aparshakti will play a small-town boy and he does so with a lot of perfection." The story will revolve around a man, (apparently played by Aparshakti) who will try to bring literacy to his village in Kanpur through his quirky yet social enterprise. However, other cast members of the film are yet to be finalised.

Aparshakti made his debut with the 2015 blockbuster Dangal and has been part of several films after that. Despite repeated attempts, the actor didn't respond to our calls.

Coming to the director, Ashish has helmed several short films in the past and has also won an award in Washington for his work in the film T for Taj Mahal.

Are you excited for Aparshakti's upcoming film? Stay tuned to BollywoodLife for more updates from the world of glamour and glitz.
