Bumblebee is all set to release in January in India and we re preparing ourselves to see the yellow Volkswagen Beetle transform into the beloved character from the franchise in his own standalone movie. The Transformers spin-off will explore the story of Bumblebee - everything that made the beloved character he is in the Transformers today. Everyone, who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, would associate Bumblebee with their childhood, just like John Cena.
The WWE wrestler plays Lieutenant Jack Burns, a military officer who has a grudge against Transformers, in the movie. While onscreen he s supposed to have hatred against the character, off-screen the star revealed that he was in love with the character throughout his growing up years. Speaking in a making of Bumblebee video, the wrestler-turned-actor said that Bumblebee is special because director Travis Knight set the Transformer spin-off in the time when he fell in love with him the 1980s.
Travis is taking the story back to the beginning, set in the time period where I first fell in love with Transformers, he said. We get to go back in time with Bumblebee and see where he came from and see him in his original form, added co-star Hailee Steinfeld.
Speaking about the movie, Travis explained, I was a child of the 80s, I grew up loving those classic Steven Spielberg coming-of-age tales. And that was something I wanted to bring to Bumblebee.
The movie will attempt to explain who Bumblebee is and why he is loved so much, added the director.

Bumblebee has been a part of the Transformers franchise since its inception. The spin-off features Jorge Lendeborg Jr, John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, and Pamela Adlon. The movie is set to release on January 4, 2019, in India.
