Rajkummar Rao's Stree BEATS Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju - here's how

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree is one of the biggest surprise hits of the year. After enjoying a phenomenal run in the theatres, the horror-comedy is now getting good viewership on the television and honestly, this was bound to happen as the small films have performed well on TV. With over 1.2 crore audience viewership, Stree has become the fifth highest viewed film of the year after Dhadak (1.8 crore), Golmaal Again (1.63 crore), Baaghi 2 (1.61 crore) and Tiger Zinda Hai (1.37 crore).

It has beaten films like biggest Bollywood hit of the year Sanju, which got around 80 lacs views on the television. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat, which was the second biggest hit of the year has failed to impress the TV audiences. Surprisingly, disasters like Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se and Genius have worked big time on the television. Recently, the producer of Stree confirmed the news of the film's sequel while talking to us. With the same star cast and technical crew, we expect the sequel to repeat the history of its first part and become a huge money-spinner at the box office. Anyway, do you think films like Simmba and Zero, will also work on the small screen? Tweet to us...
