Director Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath has performed pretty well at the box office. In 10 days, the pilgrimage love story raked in Rs 54.21 crore and has now become the second highest grosser of Sushant Singh Rajput surpassing the lifetime business of his debut film Kai Po Che, which had earned Rs 50 crore during its theatrical run. Interestingly, both the films are helmed by Abhishek Kapoor.

Talking about the film's success, Sushant said: "I am really happy with the audience response to the film. When an actor's work gets appreciated then it feels good because through that he gets an encouragement."The kind of minute detail we have shown in the film, they are getting connected to it and appreciating it. The film which depicts the love story of a Muslim porter and a Hindu girl on a pilgrimage to Kedarnath sees the debut of Sara Ali Khan, daughter of actress Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan. The film, produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP and Abhishek Kapoor's Guy In the Sky Pictures. It is set in the backdrop of the flash floods that wrecked the temple town in June 2013.
