The Go-To Haircare Solution For Indian Women Is Finally Here!

While the beauty world looks towards new and innovative ways to either solve a problem, enhance a feature or make a technique the current trend, somehow it always ends up going back to the basics. Ayurveda—the age-old way of life when it came to medicinal and healing practices rooted in India. From turmeric and amla to ashwagandha and ginseng, the benefits of using these Ayurvedic ingredients are endless—which is why, no wonder the beauty world is taking note.

With that, let me introduce you to Aveda—a haircare brand designed with love for the environment and all its beings. They’re serving up some incredible products that not only are made with the purest of ingredients, but they also benefit all hair types. Being an avid beauty lover, I’ve been waiting for Aveda to be available in India for the longest time. And earlier last week they finally launched their products at Sephora and Nykaa.

But before you blindly add them to your cart, it’s important to know a little bit about the brand, the products and a few other things, which only us at MissMalini can tell you! I had the chance to meet Cindy Angerhofer, the executive director of botanical research and here are a few things she dished about the organic brand.

MM: What products would you recommend for Indian girls?

CA: It depends on each individual and their hair type and concern. Depending on what she is looking for, Aveda has something for everyone. For damaged hair, we have our Damage Remedy range that visibly repairs and strengthens hair. If you’re looking for hydration, we have our Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil. There’s Smooth Infusion for those who want to fight frizz and the new Invati Advanced, which is great for hair loss and thinning.

MM: What are the instant benefits a person will experience after using these plant-based products?

CA: The oils we incorporate such as moringa, buriti and coconut thickens and conditions your hair. Babassu and coconut help cleanse skin and hair. Amla extract can thicken the diameter of one’s hair shaft. And plant-derived salicylic acid gently exfoliates and keeps the pores and follicles clear.

So, all you Indian beauties, time to invest in what our mama (earth) gave us and opt for Ayurvedic hair products!
