Shankar REVEALS why Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is not a part of 2.0

The biggest visual spectacle of the Indian cinema, 2.0 featuring Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth is hitting the screens tomorrow. While the buzz and the hype of the sci-fi venture is at its peak, there are some fans, who are still disappointed as they won't see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in this mega-budget sequel. Well, director Shankar has finally reacted to this question and his answer pretty justifies the point. This is a different story. The love triangle was explored in part one. 2.0 is a new story in which the characters from Robot are repeated. Chitti, 2.0 Chitti and the scientist, Vaseegaran are part of this film. It s a whole new premise. This film didn t demand Aishwarya Rai Bachchan s character to be there. But there is a reference to the character played by her in the earlier film in 2.0

In Enthiran (Robot), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the character of medical student named Sana. The first part is still the biggest hit of Rajinikanth's career and we expect 2.0 to shatter it and set new benchmarks at the ticket windows. With the budget of Rs 600 crore, 2.0 is the most expensive Indian film ever. It will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions and Karan Johar will present the Hindi version under his banner Dharma Productions. Apparently, it is the first Indian film, which is entirely shot in 3D. Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles. With 10000 screens globally, it is widest Indian release ever.
