The trailer of Ekta Kapoor's web series, Broken But Beautiful, dropped recently and we must say, it took us on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Vikrant Massey, Harleen Sethi and Pooja Bamrah, impressed us and everyone by their skills in those few minutes. In fact, their performances are one of the many things which drew us to watch the series, which has started streaming from today on the Alt Balaji app. Days before the streaming of Broken But Beautiful, BollywoodLife had a fun chat with Pooja Bhamrah, who essays the role of Harleen Sethi's best friend (Porno) in the web series.
Right from revealing her character's role in Harleen and Vikrant's life in Broken But Beautiful, to talking about her journey of being a model, then an actor and her upcoming projects, Pooja answered it all happily. Mentioning as to how Porno as a best friend brings a difference in Samira's (Harleen) life, she said, "Porno always tries to make sense in Samira's life. My character shows her the other side of a story. Samira is the one who is very emotional and Porno is the grounding factor in her life. The one who shows her the reality, to be more precise, an enabler." As we continued talking to this pretty lady, we came across an interesting aspect about her and Vikrant Massey. The fact that they are distant relatives, which is barely known to anyone.
It is not only us who feel that Pooja is a great actor but even Ekta Kapoor has a similar opinion. Praising her, Ekta said, "Pooja is a really good actor. Every time I saw her on screen, she stood out. She held her own. I am glad we cast her." Other than Ekta, Sarita Tanwar, the producer of Broken But Beautiful was all praise for Pooja and said that she was perfect for the character of Porno. "She plays a practical level-headed girl and that isn t far from who Pooja is. She was shortlisted in the very first audition for the role. And I am really glad she was part of the cast. Not only is she a terrific actress, but she also has great energy and attitude," Tanwar added.
Coming to her journey from being a model, an anchor to now an actor, Pooja termed it as one roller coaster ride wherein she never thought of graduating into anchoring. But, ultimately she did venture specifically into sports anchoring as she did projects like Pro Kabaddi League and later went on to host a Bollywood show. Concluding her chat with us, Pooja shared that she is soon coming up with another web series which is a thriller drama. She also revealed that she has a film lined up as well and that it is based on cricket.
