Actress Nayanthara was signed on in November to play the female lead opposite Thalapathy Vijay in his 63rd film, which will be directed by Atlee. And now a new star has come on board. And it is none other than Kathir of Pariyerum Perumal fame. He will be seen in a key role in the film that is being produced by AGS Entertainment. Wishes started pouring in for the actor on his Twitter account as news of him being on board Atlee's venture spread like wildfire. An elated Kathir then posted a message himself expressing how happy he was.

While this will be Thalapathy Vijay's third film with Atlee after Theri and Mersal both of which were blockbusters, Kathir's last film was SIGAI which is the first Tamil film to be released digitally on the ZEE5 platform. Latest reports say that Vijay will be seen playing a football coach in the film. Meanwhile, Atlee has retained the core technical team of his previous blockbuster Mersal which includes cinematographer GK Vishnu, music composer Rahman, art director Muthuraj and editor Ruben for the film.
The film will go on the floors on January 20 in Chennai and is slated for a Diwali release.
