Rajinikanth-starrer Petta gets censor clearance but ONLY after multiple cuts and mutes – deets here

After 2.0, Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Petta which is directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Said to be a commercial potboiler, Petta has a stellar star cast and is gearing up for release during Pongal 2019. The film completed its censor formalities but is said to have received a clearance from the censor board only after multiple cuts and mutes. According to the CBF website, the makers of Petta have been advised to mute few words in the film which are considered profanity. The censor report also suggests that the run time of Petta is two hours and fifty-one minutes. Petta will be the longest Rajinikanth film in the recent past with such a running time.

Besides Rajinikanth, Petta also stars Trisha Krishnan, Simran and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles and will be the first time for all these actors to share screen space with the superstar. Petta will also feature Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui marking his debut down South in Tamil. The music of Petta is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the album is already out now. The music album of Petta is already a hit number and is being loving by fans of Rajinikanth.

Petta will clash with Ajith s Viswasam and both the films are expected to be released on the same date, January 10th, 2018. However, the makers of both these films are yet to confirm the release date of their respective films.
