Yash's KGF enters the Rs 100 crore club at the worldwide box office

Yash and Srinidhi Shetty starrer KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) has achieved a new milestone at the ticket windows. The period crime thriller has set new benchmarks for the Kannada cinema at the worldwide box office. In just 5 days, the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in the global market and has become the first Kannada film to do so.

Apparently, the film has performed better than Shah Rukh Khan's Zero at the box office, which is quite surprising for the trade experts as the screen count of KGF is less than half of Aanand L Rai directorial venture. Since the film has received rave reviews from the movie buffs, we are hoping the film to remain rock-steady at the ticket windows. Since Ranveer Singh's Simmba is arriving this Friday at the ticket windows, it'll be interesting to see how KGF performs in its second weekend. Talking about the reviews, our critic Urmimala Banerjee gave the film three stars and wrote, "Bollywood has made heroes out of many gangsters and this role should be a landmark one for Kannada superstar Yash. Engrossing content, super production values and an interesting premise for chapter two makes this a tantalising gangster flick." Anyway, do you think it will affect the business of Simmba at the box office? Tweet to us...
