After releasing the character posters of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vijay Sethupathi, the makers of Rajinikanth's Petta revealed the new poster of the film featuring Trisha as Saro along with the Thalaivar. In the poster, we see smiling faces of Trisha and Rajinikanth as the superstar making her princess enjoying the swing ride. The poster suggests that apart from Simram Bagga, Rajinikanth will also have a romantic angle with Trisha.

Talking about Petta, the film is shot in Dehradun, Chennai and Lucknow. It features the ensemble star cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran Bagga, Bobby Simha, Megha Akash, Sanath Reddy and Nawazuddin Siddiqi. As per the leading south portal Ananda Vikatan, the role of the superstar will be the proper mix of a classy and massy hero. He will be a hostel warden in the day but a dreaded don in the night. Interestingly, this will be Rajinikanth's third character as a don after Kabali and Kaala. It will have three action sequences which will definitely be a huge treat for the Thalaivar fans. Actors Bobby Simha and Sanath Reddy are playing sons of Rajinikanth in the film. Actress Megha Akash is paired opposite Sanath. Coming to Vijay Sethupathi, he is playing the lead antagonist in the film.
