With 10,500 screens, Akshay Kumar - Rajinikanth's 2.0 BEATS Prabhas' Baahubali 2 to become the biggest Indian worldwide release

Director Shankar's 2.0 has released today and we are already expecting the magnum opus to set new benchmarks at the ticket windows. But, the sci-fi venture has already achieved a milestone, which will make all Akshay Kumar - Rajinikanth's fan jump with joy. The sequel of Enthiran has opened with 10,500 screens worldwide making it biggest release of an Indian film beating Baahubali 2, which had released in 9000 screens.

Apart from the domestic circuit, the film has also received a great number of screens in the international markets. 2.o was earlier supposed to release in Diwali next year but postponed due to incompletion of VFX work. Director Shankar recently said in an interview with Zee Tamil, Except for main characters, 2.0 is a completely different film from Enthiran. Major Hollywood studios adjusted their prior commitments to work on this project as they were so impressed with the subject of the film. The film is released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions and Karan Johar will present the Hindi version under his banner Dharma Productions. Apparently, it is the first Indian film, which is entirely shot in 3D. Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles. Despite being a normal working day, the Hindi version of the film opened to an occupancy of around 40 per cent in the early morning shows, which is great considering a dubbed film. With positive reviews pouring in, we expect 2.0 to enter the Rs 100 crore club in its first three days itself.
