Decoding the super success of Ranveer Singh's Simmba

Ranveer Singh's Simmba has succeeded with flying colours! From the day it released, the film has shown excellent trending. Rohit Shetty's combo with Ranveer has only made the film alluring for the public. Now, everyone is busy figuring out what it is that helped this cop drama become such a wondrous experience at the theatres and the box office. Count us in on that too and we have managed to list down a few things that helped the film post such incredible numbers. In fact, during this process, we realised that Rohit just stuck to the basics and managed to create a huge stir at the box office. Check it out right here...

#Playing to the gallery

It's been a while since movies catered to the gallery and Simmba came at a time when people were missing such a film. These are movies that are specially made to win over the single screen theatres, which are more in number in India. You give them the chance to cheer, hoot and whistle and they reward you with big fortunes. That's exactly what happened with Simmba. In fact, in 2018, only a few movies managed to do that which worked famously for Simmba. After all, cinema is still viewed as a means of entertainment.

#Rohit Shetty basics

Rohit Shetty knows how to make a family movie. His films cater to every member of a family. There's humour, action, romance, dialoguebaazi and much more in one film. That's why he is one of the most successful directors in the country today. Simmba too had a perfect blend of all of it and more. It had the added promise of star cameos and that worked with the audience.

#Perfect release date

Many must have thought, Rohit Shetty shouldn't have moved the release date of Simmba to December 28. Well, we feel, it was a golden move. By doing so, the film managed to get more than 4000 screens which wouldn't have been a reality had it released with Zero. Plus, the end of the year holidays are longer and more beneficial for films. Cases in point, 3 Idiots, Dangal, PK, Tiger Zinda Hai and more!

#Singham feels

We feel Singham is perhaps the best-made cop drama in Bollywood. Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham was perfect, to say the least. There was a certain vulnerability in his character which appealed to the audience. The fact that he was returning in the same garb in Simmba fueled the excitement for the film further. When the trailer released, people just couldn't get over Ajay's entry and when he appeared in the film, the audience went wild.

#Ranveer Singh and the 90s

Ranveer Singh has proved that he is an eccentric human being. No, not an eccentric actor but a human being. We cannot think about anyone else except Ranveer who can be Sangram Bhalerao who is spunky, funny and corrupt to the core. Plus, Rohit used Ranveer's crazy love for the 90s in the film, and we have a winner at hand.
